Statement on Antisemitism and Asian Hate
I want to begin by recognizing the hard work of prior generations who made our country a better place. I grew up hearing stories about the fight for civil rights and the push to end discrimination. As John F. Kennedy once said, “The torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans.”
I believe strongly that we must continue the progress made by those who came before us, especially in the fight against discrimination. My generation often rises to this responsibility, yet in my adult life I have also witnessed a troubling increase in antisemitism and anti-Asian hate. We cannot ignore this reality. I want to recognize it clearly and commit myself to doing everything I can to stop the spread of hate. Hatred has no place in Cambridge—or anywhere else.
